Blog Hop & DDS 4th Year Blogaversary!

Welcome to the Spring Fling Hop-Hop-Hop with Doodle Dragon Crew and Design to Color.  You should have hopped from Veronica.  We are so happy you could join us for this special occasion. It is also Dustin Pike's/Doodle Dragon Studios 4 year Blogaversary!  You won't want to miss out on the deals he is offering.  Some of the crew used images from the new set, so hop around and get inspired.

How cute is this Fairy Frog Mother?  She totally caught my eye when I saw the new images!  Doesn't she look like she's pulling up at chair at lunch and saying, "Hello friend!"  Ready to dive into a deep and exciting conversation with her best friend.

Leaving a comment and some love will get you a chance of winning some cool stuff.   Both Designed to Color and Dustin Pike have some goodies to give away.  Hopping is open until the 25th and winners will be announced by the 29th.  So hop on over to Gramma and check out the sweet creation!  If you have gotten lost here are the hop links below.  Hop along now!!

Once Upon A Book Fair

Side view so you can see tulle and book popped out

Another month, another contest Box Tops contest.  This month my contest also promotes our upcoming Book Fair themed Once Upon a Book Fair.  So Dustin's (aka Doodle Dragon Studios) image was perfect for the bulletin board.  But then again, I think I say that every month!

Grass additions have always been so frustrating for me.  I never could seem to get the blades of grass just the way I wanted.  This time I had a lightbulb moment... use my Martha Steward grass edge punch to trace it with the projector!  Really?  Really?  It was that easy?  There's your tip of the day... use a punch and trace it whatever it is you need.  My MS edge punches have a whole new life to them!

Supplies:

Cloud poster paper (purchased at Hobby Lobby)
Butch paper
Bulletin board border
Red foil cardstock (for jewels on crown & princess jewelery)

Hello Spring!

Can you tell I'm just a little excited that the sun is shining and spring is around the corner! Ahhhh, I'm loving it!

The Doodle Dragon Studios Design Team wanted to show off Dustin Pike's fabulous March Membership images. I have already designed/posted three projects (see "Stick with It!", "Permission Granted", and the "Hint. Hint.") made with March images, but I couldn't resist making another one. This froggie is very excited for spring too!

Check out the Design Team's March Membership creations.

Thanks Mojo Monday for the sketch!

Hint. Hint.

Now I'm just being silly. But when I saw this frog from Dustin Pike's - Doodle Dragon Studios March Membership set it made me think this frog was stuck on something he wasn't prepared for. A NASCAR 200MPH+ car came to mind, since they're racing in Las Vegas this weekend. Just a quick 6 hour drive and we'd be there!

This is another email digi card for my family. HINT. HINT. Pack your bags. It's going to be an awesome, warm, sunny weekend in Vegas. Let's go!

Technically, I took this picture at a race in Talledega a few years ago, back when Jr. was in the #8 car. I couldn't find any good car pictures from the Vegas races. Either way, my family will get a kick out of this one.

Boogity, Boogity, Boogity... Let's Go Racing Boys!

Permission Granted...

At the request of several of my friends AND permission from my son, I made another digi card for the rival college. I must say I like my son's RED U card better. :) Go Utes!

I should really do something productive today other than make projects... maybe start with cleaning my house? Nah. This is much more fun!

Cupid's Arrows

A few days ago on a local daily show they suggested that Pinterest is actually killing our creativity. I disagree. I found these cupid arrows on Pinterest that originally looked like this below:

Nothing wrong with it. I decided to put my own spin on cupid's arrows. I turned it into the above cute, sassy, cupid frog.

My question is... must we invent the wheel EVERY time? Why can't we just change out the tire every now and then?

Supplies:
Doodle Dragon Studios image - December 2010 Membership - cupid frog
Pretzel sticks
Cinnamon hearts candy
Background paper - Scenic Route

Saving the Page

Dustin Pike at Doodle Dragon Studios just released this froggie freebie. I needed a bookmark badly. I didn't want to borrow another Book Fair bookmark from my daughter. This froggie looked like his was holding down the page. Worked perfect and just in time!

Grab this cute froggie freebie before he hops over to the Doodle Dragon Studios store!

Day 11 of 14 Days of Valentines - Save Your Kisses!

Day 11...only 3 days until Valentine's Day. Wow! This month is flying. I thought for Day 11 I would combine two challenges to make the perfect card. My fellow and very talented Doodle Dragon Studios DT member
Ted - Happily Ever Crafter is having a Valentine's Challenge (it's still going so join in!). The twist to his challenge is your sentiment must be done in your own handwriting.

Hmm...easy peasy. I can totally do this challenge...easily. Yeah, that was until I rewrote the sentiment 20 times! Not kidding. It's crazy when the paper is cut and embossed the pressure that messes with your mind! I finally just had to pick the best or I still be writing! Silly. I knew I wanted to use this kissing princess image and sentiment, but I couldn't post it until Dustin Pike released the collection. If you haven't seen his Ever After set, you need to check it out!

While I was waiting for the big Ever After release, I wandered over to
The Cuttlebug Spot where this week's challenge is to create a step card. Ta-dah! See the clouds part and the sun come shining down. Pure inspiration...mix the two challenges together and a card is created...

"You may need to date alot of frogs before you find your Prince Charming, just don't kiss them ALL!"

Day 5 of 14 Days of Valentines

Happy Day 5! Remember yesterday when I said I found a challenge to play in? Well, I found another one! Flaunt It Fridays is having a challenge to use the lips image from the Indie Art Solutions cartridge. Surprise, surprise...I have never used this cartridge either! Let's just say I'm an obsessed Cricut cartridge collector. Just because you have them doesn't mean you have to use them. Right?

This frog was calling for these lips! The phrase just makes me chuckle.

Supplies:
Doodle Dragon Studios image - December Membership
Indie Art Cricut cartridge - cut at 3 1/2"
Bo Bunny - Flirty Dots paper
Toothpick
Pop dots
American Crafts cardstock

Guess where I'm going today? The Oh My Crafts Warehouse sale! Envision me doing the old Mervyn's commerical...Open, open, open!"

Inspiration Challenge - Advertising

While we're waiting for Dustin's website to get fully up and running, I decided to play along in another The Cuttlebug Spot challenge. This week the inspiration is to come from advertisements. Who isn't inspired by chocolate? I found this cute little bag of melt in your mouth Lindt chocolates at Target.

Here's the ad:
