Kiss Me!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! I'm not Irish, but kiss me anyway!

I thought I'd try my luck at another digital card. This cute duck is from Dustin Pike's Doodle Dragon Studios February Membership. Originally, Mr. Duck was naked. So I colored him, added a shirt, then snatched a shamrock from a different digi image for his stylish shirt. Say what? It's St. Patrick's Day, he couldn't have a plain green shirt! I cropped the shamrock from January Membership #12 leprechaun's hand. Pretty cool, huh? The sketch is from The Sweet Shop. The sketch needed a little something, so I added the three circles with the stolen shamrocks. Not too shabby. :)

Hello Dad

Operation Write Home had a simple sketch challenge on their blog. Simple is right up my alley today! My husband travels for his job. I thought this might be a sweet card for one of my children to write in, then sneak it into his suitcase. A pleasant surprise when he gets to his destination!

I enlarged the tie on Ollie the Monkey to print it out. Look... it's matchy, matchy.

Cards for Emily

Emily is a cute little 7 year old girl who is fighting leukemia. She has gone from Leukemia to Rotavirus, to pancreatitis, to kidney stones then to shingles, not to mention over 300 pokes in her little tiny body. From chemo to blood draws to feeding tubes. She has definitely had her ups and her downs. You can read about Emily and her progress on her Aunt's blog HERE.

Dustin Pike - Doodle Dragon Studios is recruiting everyone to create a card to cheer on Emily. He has designed a special set of digi images (see below) for the occasion. You can't buy them, you have to earn them. Head on over to Dustin's site to get all the details to make a card for Emily and earn this adorable set!

Emily loves the colors pink and purple. She also loves horses and cats. The Daisy and Buttercup set is designed perfect, just for her. Dustin is the best! I wanted to make a card that was bright and happy for this sweet girl. It needed more texture. So I used Photoshop to eliminate the drawn mane, then I added the floss for hair. Hopefully it brings a smile to her cute face and heart.

Emily will love getting all the cards from Doodle Dragon Studios followers! Come join the fun!

I have already designed/posted three projects (see "Stick with It!", "Permission Granted", and the "Hint. Hint.") made with March images, but I couldn't resist making another one. This froggie is very excited for spring too!

Hint. Hint.

Now I'm just being silly. But when I saw this frog from Dustin Pike's - Doodle Dragon Studios March Membership set it made me think this frog was stuck on something he wasn't prepared for. A NASCAR 200MPH+ car came to mind, since they're racing in Las Vegas this weekend. Just a quick 6 hour drive and we'd be there!

This is another email digi card for my family. HINT. HINT. Pack your bags. It's going to be an awesome, warm, sunny weekend in Vegas. Let's go!

Technically, I took this picture at a race in Talledega a few years ago, back when Jr. was in the #8 car. I couldn't find any good car pictures from the Vegas races. Either way, my family will get a kick out of this one.

Boogity, Boogity, Boogity... Let's Go Racing Boys!

Permission Granted...

At the request of several of my friends AND permission from my son, I made another digi card for the rival college. I must say I like my son's RED U card better. :) Go Utes!

I should really do something productive today other than make projects... maybe start with cleaning my house? Nah. This is much more fun!

STICK With It!

Usually, I like to only post one project a day. But Dustin Pike - Doodle Dragon Studios just releases some of his March Membership images!!! I couldn't wait another 24 hours before posting this digi card I made for my son at college. I thought it might be a fun email for him to open up. Plus I've sent him so many care packages that his treat/snack drawer is full. So today it's just a super simple, thinking of you, stick with it, Love Mom digi card.

Cupid's Arrows

A few days ago on a local daily show they suggested that Pinterest is actually killing our creativity. I disagree. I found these cupid arrows on Pinterest that originally looked like this below:

Nothing wrong with it. I decided to put my own spin on cupid's arrows. I turned it into the above cute, sassy, cupid frog.

My question is... must we invent the wheel EVERY time? Why can't we just change out the tire every now and then?

It's Never Too Late to Party!

Remember last week on Doodle Dragon Studios we had a challenge to "Bling It Up" a project. Well, I didn't get it done in time. In my mind, I saw (I can still see!) this perfect piece of Mardi Gras paper that I know I have. Apparently, I've put it in a "special" spot because I have search high and low for it! I kept thinking I was going to find somewhere in my collection. Nope. I couldn't finish the project without it. I was disappointed because I love this blinged up Mardi Gras dragon. Sadly, I set him aside.

This morning, I was cruising around the my usual favorite website stops. Party Time Tuesday is having a bling it up - anyway you want challenge! Yeah! My dragon was suddenly reawakened! I didn't find the original piece of paper I was looking for, but I decided this purple piece would work just fine. See... it's never too late to party! You can't get much more bling than a collection of Mardi Gras necklaces, rhinestones, and shiny Hershey Kisses. How you get your necklaces - is your choice. I, personally, just purchased mine from the store. Hee hee.

I must say I've only been to New Orleans once . I was pregnant at the time, with wild morning sickness (that lasted all day - all 9 months). The smells and flavors of the city put me waaaaaay over the top. I'm not sure if New Orleans was really given a fair shake. Maybe after I've checked off all the other places I want to travel, I'll circle back to it again.

Oh look, more chocolate! Does someone want to come help me eat all this?

I Love Chocolate!

I know, I know. It's March. But I still have a few more Valentine's projects to post! I guess that's what happens when you buy too much 70% off Valentine candy. I need to do something with it before I eat ALL chocolate myself. Thankfully my DD spoke for these right after I took the picture which means 30 minutes less on the treadmill for me. Of course, I'm not going to mention all the missing mini Mr. Goodbars and Hershey's Milk Chocolate bars. Monkeys. Why must I love chocolate? Oh wait... because it's delicious!

The Be's Return

I found this subway art on Pinterest recently. I knew I had to make something with it. What? I thought you were only supposed to pin things from Pinterest, not actually DO something with them. :)

Then I remember Dustin Pike - Doodle Dragon Studios released a set of digi bee papers last year with a cute bee to match. So I combined the three. Look closely and you can see the white bees hiding on the yellow paper.

It's a fun, bright reminder of the person I want to be each day.

Ahoy there Matie!

Another month, another contest. The short of it..."Y'er trash is our treasure!" Students turn in all their Box Tops, Campbell's Labels for Education, My Coke Rewards, Tyson Project A+ Labels, ink cartridges, cell phones and store receipts to earn gold coins for their class. The grade with the most gold coins collected at the end of the contest wins a Pirate Ice Cream Boat Party. Anyone want to help me scoop ice cream for 150+ students?

Thanks Mr. Mailman!

Oh dear! My day just got better! Look what the mailman delivered today. Sooo excited! My favorite is the Ole cartridge. Watch for a fun Cinco de Mayo project soon. My next favorite is the Bridal Shower cartridge. It has a really cool 3-D diamond! The other two? Ummm... they were too good of a deal to pass up! And another confession... I'm a cartridge collector. I'm beginning to think I should change my blog name to Kbear's Confessions!

What would you like to see done with these cartridges?

Mad Scientist!

We have a program at our school called the Knowledge Bowl. The Knowledge Bowl is a competition for children in 3rd-6th grades. It is an opportunity for them to study a specific subject and then to compete with other schools throughout the district. This year's the theme is Science. Practices started in January and competition is in March. The students study for hours and hours, preparing for the competition. So I thought it might be fun for the PTA to cheer them onto victory with this treat.

Supplies:
Doodle Dragon Studios image - May 2011 Membership
American Crafts patterned paper - The Goods/Raindrops
Plastic treat bag (3"x4.75")
Smarties
