Party Time

Merry Christmas!  Here is the tree I decorated for our store.  I wish I would have taken a closer picture of it, but for these pictures I was focused on the fireplace.  For our company Christmas party, we had an Ugly Sweater theme.  One of my assignments for the party was to come up with a backdrop for pictures.  So I decided to make this fireplace... nice and cozy next to the tree with everyone in their sweaters... the classic family photo.  I found this ugly sweater for Cow at Target.  It's actually a dog sweater, but it fit great!

How to make the fireplace... I taped together 3 boxes for the base of the mantle.  Then covered it in black butcher paper.  The brick is a flat cardboard covered in red.  I used masking tape to make the lines.  The mantle ledge is 3 of the same size boxes as the base, but cut in half and turned upright.  Covered once again in black butcher paper.  The back edge of the ledge is cut so the piece can slide OVER the brick sheet.  Did you follow that?  The kids absolutely loved it!  As you can see one of them tried to fall into the fire.

6 boxes
Butcher paper - red, orange, yellow, gray, brown

It's a Circus Around Here!

The circus is coming!  The circus is coming!  I'm so excited the circus is coming to our area and we have partnered with them!

As part of the promotion, each restaurant in Utah was assigned to decorate their store in a circus theme.  There were three required elements - a big top, a tight wire, and a trapeze.  Check.  Check.  Check.  And a few more surprises!  It was so much fun decorating!

My favorite circus decoration!
An official Ringling Brothers clown came to our store for a private performance for our guests.  He was amazing and so funny!  They had supplied free circus prize giveaways, I added free meal cards and some Cows to the swag bags.

The circus has been on my bucket list for several years now.  This year I was able to check it off!  Yea!

Grilled Chicken Tasting Party

We invited a bunch of our favorite food bloggers to a Grilled Chicken Tasting Party.  Take a look at the festivities!

Party of 15

Bottom of the grill filled with mints and fake fire

Close up of mini grills put on the table
Chef Cow hiding all the gifts
Party gift for each of the ladies
Our blogger friends!

Quick lesson on how to make the mini fires:
1.  Cut crepe paper in 3 inches strips
2.  Place them together
3.  Fold in half, then fold creased edge two more times
4.  Cut in thin strips (I used Martha Stewart's fringe scissors)
5.  Crinkle loose ends to create texture

TaDa!  Fire!

**Actual party on April 16th.
