New Wintery Dragon Release

Sweeeeeet!  Dustin Pike at Doodle Dragon Studios just released an awesome new set of Wintery Dragons!

I'm lucky enough to be surrounded by ski resorts here in Utah.  I have 8 resorts within an hour of my house and 2 more 2 hours away (see the map Dudley posing on).  Not too bad if you love snow sports!  So "pick your poison" on which resort to visit today.  Dudley is an animal!  He loves the double diamond runs!

Doodle Dragon Studios image - Wintery Dragons set/Board Dragon
Utah Ski map
George & Basic Shapes Cricut cartridge
Troll diamond punch
EK Success Snowflake punch (yellow)

Snowman

Ever had a project you just avoided getting around to, yet needed to ummm... yesterday? I'm having one of those days. I just can't seem to get into doing this project (big bulletin board) I was asked to do. I think it's because it's a more serious, not my usual genre project. I'm a more whimsy style and the project is a more Teresa Collins style. Does that make any sense? I can actually see the finished project in my mind, I just need to start. Right after...

I was surfing the web (to my defense, I was originally looking for idea for the project then was sidetracked) and found a this fun sketch challenge over at The Sweet Stop blog and decided to play along. Dustin Pike's - Doodle Dragon Studios birdie & snowman wanted to be made into something. So it was the perfect match!

Okay, now I'm really going to start on my real project. Wish me luck! Or maybe say a prayer would be more helpful!

Supplies:
Doodle Dragon Studios image - 100 Days of Christmas set
Lime Rickey patterned paper - saraparilla
Martha Stewart Edge Punch - snowflake
American Crafts cardstock

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Challenge

DDS crew go snowboarding! Gotta love Utah snow! Well, only if it's in the mountains or Christmas.

A funny thing happened on the way to the challenge...my printer ran out of ink. I didn't run out, my printer did. I always have plenty of ink on hand. But I never change my cartridge when it tells me to. I just keep printing and printing. This is the first time it's ever gone completely empty. If you had a November DDS membership, you'll remember this crew was NOT in pink. Apparently, my blue ink cartridge is officially dead. RIP blue cartridge.

I couldn't resist just using these pinkies since my girls are boarders.

Now back to the DDS challenge for this week. The theme is WINTER. Brrr! Pick your favorite DDS image and make a winter card/project. If you need inspiration, check out the fabulous cards the design team created. If you still need more inspiration, come to my house for lunch. There's plenty of snow and cold to get you going! Remember to post your card on the DT Challenge blog by Saturday, January 22nd.

Bundle up and stay warm!

Supplies used:
Snow Days phrase from 3 Birds on Parade Cricut cartridge
Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder
Marvy snowflake punch
Icicles Stickles
Glossy Accent

Baby, It's Cold Outside

Baby, it's STILL cold outside! Inspired by the freezing weather, today's freebie from Dustin had to be used immediately. Bundle up and head on over to his blog to pick it up. It's only available until Friday. FYI - local weathermen are predicting another snow storm for Saturday, Sunday & Monday. Someone please save me!

Supplies used:
Baby it's cold outside phrase - 3 Birds on Parade Cricut cartridge
Snowflake - When It's Cold Outside Cricut cartridge
Snow - Martha Stewart Holidays coarse glitter

I Surrender!

Enough is enough...I surrender! I'm officially over winter. I've had enough. Last week we had another major storm and ended up with 10 inches of snow at my house. The "feels like" temperature said -14 the other day. I didn't look today so that I would be fooled enough to venture out of my house. It's like a frozen tundra here with no end in sight! I'm waving the white flag!

Welcome Winter!

In honor of my family's favorite ski resort opening yesterday, I wanted to use this cute gift card holder that I found at Michael's for $1. Add a fabulous DDS image (from October membership), some Stickles on the snow and his carrot nose and let's go! Because you know, Utah has the greatest snow on earth!
