Santa's Gift Bag
The students at my school have been sooooo good this year... especially turning in their Campbell's Labels for Education program labels. So we were able to order (and deliver) a Santa's gift bag of balls for each class (2 basketballs, 2 soccer balls, 2 footballs, and 2 playground balls for 36 classes). Ho! Ho! Ho!
Look at the great image on the tag! Of course, it's a Doodle Dragon Studios image! Nothing fancy, but super cute! I've been busy making tags for our teacher/faculty gifts too. Watch the post soon. Merry Christmas!

Dreaming of White Sand
Okay, I'm cheating. This is a project I did last Christmas, but it's one of my favorites! So I thought I'd share it again. I'm sooooo ready to get on a plane and go somewhere warm and fun! Not just because of the cold and snow, but it would be amazing to take a much needed break from reality.
Wait... for the record... this for the new Doodle Dragon Studios Red & Green Challenge. Make a project using one of Dustin's DDS images and incorporate the red and green theme. Then post your masterpiece on to the DDS challenge by Sunday, December 9th.
To make the palm leaves, simply put the lei out flat, then fold it in half. There should be four layers. Then tie a ribbon (I used brown raffia) in the middle. Thread through your ornaments and tag. Then tie to the bottle. This is also super cute when you attach it to an A&W Rootbeer 2 liter (instead of pina colada mixer). It looks like a real palm tree.
Hope you have a Merry Christmas!

Here's my twist on Dustin's Turkey Treats. I like the wings out straight best, so I added the sign that says, "We love you this much!"

Box Tops are SNOW Much Fun!
Here's the side view to see the hat pom poms and snow blanket added for dimension.
This is where the students trade in their Box Tops collection sheet at lunch.
He's sooooo cute!
Here are the reminders placed by each of the drinking fountains throughout the school.
Box Tops collection sheet
What happens in the Box Tops are SNOW Much Fun Contest? Students trade their completed Box Tops collection sheet (10 Box Tops) to turn over a card for a chance to win a trade, a prize or an extra ticket in the drawing for a the grand prize - a snow sled. There are over 400 prizes to win (see peg board display below). Each Box Tops collection sheet turned in automatically earns the student one ticket in the grand prize drawing.
The prize peg board is displayed in the Library for all the student to see. On Box Tops trade in days, it's moved to the lunchroom.

Happy Halloween!
No one ever said you could ONLY use Doodle Dragon Studios images on cards! I enlarged one of Dustin's image to fit my pumpkin. Then carved away. I like it!

Here's the final pumpkin carving results:

Come to the School Carnival
Really, I'm alive. It's just a been a little nuts around here the last month. As I've mentioned before, I am the PTA Leadership VP and the PTA Ongoing Fundraising Coordinator (Box Tops, Campbell's, Chick-fil-A Spirit Nights, ink & phone recycling, store cards, etc) for our school. So between Back to School Night, ending of Summer Box Tops contest & prizes, starting a new Ongoing Fundraising contest, assemblies, Chick-fil-A Spirit Night, new training for the Board, school carnival, and oh my personal crazy life with my kids... let's just say my card crafting has been put on hold for a moment. But I haven't forgotten Doodle Dragon Studios. Dustin's images are a staple for all my flyers, promotions and contests!
I used this adorable monkey as part of our upcoming PTA School Carnival flyer. He was a freebie a while back. August 10, 2011 to be more exact. His shirt originally said, "I see. I do." But I used Photoshop on his shirt and added our new school T-shirt logo. The balloons were borrowed from one of Dustin's birthday party owls. Then I added new strings to attach them to the cute monkey. Totally looks like, "Come to the School Carnival!" to me.
I admit. I'm a PTA junkie. I'm a Doodle Dragon Studios junkie. And I love it!
I shall return. Be patient. :) Things will slow down soon.

My Mind's Eye Challenge
Don't leave! No really... you've landed at Big Smiles from Kbear. My friend challenged me to stretch a little bit and create two cards with the new My Mind's Eye - The Sweetest Thing line. I must admit, I looked at the collection a million times over the last 2 weeks. The product line is super cute, but not my normal genre so my mind couldn't wrap around it immediately.
Once I really put my mind to it, the first card came together pretty quickly. I wanted a monotone scheme with a little splash of color. Simple, clean, straight forward.. "You are the best! You're #1!" It's a clear message. Sometimes I think the layers upon layers or tons of embellishments distracts from the true focus.
I was drawn to the products on the card below because it reminded me of my childhood. When I was very young I lived in Texas. My great grandma would write me letters on white lined stationary with old cards cut and pasted to decorate the paper. The cursive paper also reminded me of her handwriting. I still have all the letters tucked safely away for those days to remember the love of my grandma. My great grandparents also had a huge raspberry patch in their enormous garden. They were the most delicious plump raspberries in the world. We would go pick fresh raspberries, then bring them into the house. We would each get a bowl for our berries, sprinkle a little sugar and pour cold milk on them. Yum. So many great memories. So many reasons why I love my grandma. She would have been so happy to open her mailbox to find this card waiting for her. Does anyone know how much does a stamp cost to send a card to heaven?

Kookies with the K-9 Contest
I rarely repeat Ongoing Fundraising contests at school, but the Kookies with the K-9 contest was such a HUGE success last year. I couldn't resist doing it again! The only hitch in the contest was I didn't save my bulletin board. Here is my new one. I like it better than last year's!

Scrapbook USA Expo Card Drive
It's almost time for the Scrapbook USA Expo! Circle, circle, circle the dates for September 28 & 29. As you know, I LOVE working the VIP Lounge at the show every spring and fall. I love mingling with all the amazing ladies (and a few men) and soaking in their creativity. I can't wait to see all the "regulars" and all the new VIPs who will party with me in 49 days. This year is extra special because my all my favorite companies are teaming up together for a great cause... Doodle Dragon Studios, Scrapbook USA and Operation Write Home! Plus an added bonus of Huntsman Cancer Institute.
Have you finished making your cards for the Care with Cards Challenge? You still have a few more days to earn free images (including this boxing monkey) from Doodle Dragon Studios! Here are the details of the card drive from Dustin:
*You do NOT need to use DoodleDragon Studios design, it'd be nice but not required...
*All cards will be donated to Operation Write Home and/or the Huntsman Cancer Institute
*Remember there are rules for the Operation Write Home cards. Check out their website at http://operationwritehome.org/guidelines/ for details
*The biggest card need for the Huntsman Cancer Institute is "Thank You" and "Birthday"
*Card Kits are SO needed for Huntsman Cancer Institute
*Cards/Kits can be sent to:
Scrapbook USA Expo, PO Box 1237, Draper Utah 84020
*Remember to include your e-mail address so you can receive your free designs
*Cards must be postmarked by August 18th
Sometimes Dustin Pike/Doodle Dragon Studios images talk to me. It's true. I don't know how to explain it, but it really does happen. You've heard the phrase, "I'm a lover, not a fighter." In honor of the Huntsman Cancer Institute card drive, this boxing monkey immediately said, "I'm a lover AND a fighter!"
The cards are starting to arrive in Scrapbook USA's mailbox! Take a peek at the fun cards coming in on the Scrapbook USA blog.
See you soon!

FLASH.. Ah Ah ♫♫♪♪♫
FLASH.. Ah Ah ♫♫♪♪♫! Well it took a week to show off, but I did it! I made a card from each hero from Dustin Pike/Doodle Dragon Studios new Super Hero set. I don't know what it is, but I'm strangely addicted to this set.
Now to start working on the Cards for Care card drive Dustin is sponsoring at the Scrapbook Expo in Utah this year. I'm thinking of making some card kits from the Super Heroes set. That is... if I break out my Silhouette Cameo machine and figure out how to work it. I've had it since November! Rumor is it can cut out digi images perfect! Don't ask me why I haven't jumped all over this?! I must really love my Tim Holtz scissors.

I'm Batman
Can I tell you how much I LOVE Dustin Pike/Doodle Dragon Studios new Super Heroes digi set! I love, love, love it! Now can someone please come lock me out of my craft room? I can't stop playing with these guys! I've made two additonal cards from the Heroes set (2 more heroes to go), but I can't show you them today. I'll post one a day. Superheroes never ALL show up in one place at one time!
Here's Batman. Have you seen the new movie yet? We saw it on vacation at an IMAX theater. Highly recommend it over a normal movie theater. It's huge and everything rumbles in your chest. This weekend we're having a Batman movie marathon to see the complete story. Yeah, we did it backwards.

Wish We Were Here!
Are you melting yet? This summer has been so hot. In Utah, it's been over 100 degrees for the last week. It's no fun to even step foot outside. So today I was surfing around and found a vacation challenge from Just A Scrappin'.
One of our favorite vacation spots is Cancun. We've been there enough times that now it really is a vacation. We just eat, read, sleep, eat, read, sleep, eat, sleep - all on the beach. Repeat for 10 days. We definitely come home nice and rested. This pool is above the beach, but looks like it spills into the ocean. I'll really could go for a dip in this pool (or the ocean) this week!
The Just A Scrappin' Challenge is "Vacation Time" to make a card, layout, or 3D project of what you like to do on your vacations. Use only the colors blue, white, green and brown. Check. Check. Check.

The Doodle Dragon Studios Design Team are showing off the latest and greatest images in Dustin Pike's May Membership set. Here's my card, click here now to go check out the others!
My friend posted this sentiment the other day. I had a good laugh. Originally, it said "inside my fort", but I switched it to match the image. Oh, the days of forts and clubhouses. Some days growing up is overrated...

DDS Sketch Challenge Time!
This week, one of our loved Doodle Dragon Studios Design Team member (Ri) announced that she was leaving the team. As sad as I am to see her go, I am also soooo excited for her and her next adventure in her life!
When I was young, my great grandfather never allowed us to say "Good bye" or "bye" when we left his home. He said it sounded so final. Instead, he always said, "See you!" Even though he has been in heaven for years and years, his tradition has carried on. So to you Ri, see you! Best of luck! Here's a BIG slobbery card with love! I will miss you!
My second card is to celebrate FRIDAY! May is always a crazy month for me. So Friday's are a great break from the madness.
Here's the Doodle Dragon Studios Sketch challenge for this week. Grab a Dustin Pike/Doodle Dragon Studio image and create a project. Then post your creation to the challenge by Sunday, May 27th. Have a safe and happy Memorial Weekend! Be sure to stop by on Saturday to join in the Operation Write Blog Hop with me!
