Support the Cause Challenge

Yeah, it's way too cold ("feels like" temperature 1 degree) to go anywhere today, so I decided to play in another challenge. Today's challenge is from Fantabulous Cricut - #45 Challenge: Support the Cause - make a project in honor of a cause that is near and dear to you or a loved ones heart.

Who says you need the Pink Journey Cricut cartridge? Okay, I do just to say I have it in my collection, but you really don't. I used Stand & Salute Cricut cartridge to make the ribbon frame. The side ribbon is actually a lanyard I found at OfficeMax in their clearance section a while back. I knew someday I'd use it! I cut it apart to fit my card.

Supplies:
Doodle Dragon Studios image - Awareness set
Stand & Salute Cricut cartridge
Breast Cancer Awareness lanyard (for side ribbon) - found at OfficeMax
Font - LD Mixed
American Crafts cardstock

Welcome to Day 1 of 14 Days of Valentines - I'm a SUCKER

Welcome to Day 1 of 14 Days of Valentines. Dustin has released soooo many cute valentine images that I couldn't stop at just 1 project. So I'm going to do 14!

Today's project is "Valentine, I'm a SUCKER for your love!" Yeah, I'm a sucker for Doodle Dragon Studios images too! Check back each day to see a new Doodle Dragon Studios Valentine's Day project. They will be simple and easy to duplicate.

See you tomorrow!

Spellbinders Nestabilities - Lacey Circles
Sucker - found it at Walgreen's for $1
Fiskars - heart punch
Heart ribbon - from the Dollar Tree store

Inspiration Challenge - Advertising

While we're waiting for Dustin's website to get fully up and running, I decided to play along in another The Cuttlebug Spot challenge. This week the inspiration is to come from advertisements. Who isn't inspired by chocolate? I found this cute little bag of melt in your mouth Lindt chocolates at Target.

Here's the ad:

Inspiration Challenge - Children's Games

Dustin has been releasing so many cute images that I couldn't resist entering into another challenge! This week over at The Cuttlebug Spot is a different Inspiration Challenge. But this time the inspiration is from children's games. Obviously, I chose UNO. I remember playing UNO for hours and hours at my grandparent's cabin from a young age. It's one of those timeless (and ageless) games. I still love to play it.

Originally, this cute duck was holding a heart, but he can hold UNO cards too. Watch out...he is a quacky game player.

Supplies:
Cuttlebug embossing folder - Heart Blocks
Doodle Dragon Studios image - December Membership
Doodlebug Designs Braddies - Cinnamon Hearts
Uno cards
Font - Boulder bold
Pop dots
American Crafts cardstock

To celebrate I'm giving away a present. To win, simply become a follower and comment on this post to enter your name in the drawing. A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Challenge

DDS crew go snowboarding! Gotta love Utah snow! Well, only if it's in the mountains or Christmas.

A funny thing happened on the way to the challenge...my printer ran out of ink. I didn't run out, my printer did. I always have plenty of ink on hand. But I never change my cartridge when it tells me to. I just keep printing and printing. This is the first time it's ever gone completely empty. If you had a November DDS membership, you'll remember this crew was NOT in pink. Apparently, my blue ink cartridge is officially dead. RIP blue cartridge.

I couldn't resist just using these pinkies since my girls are boarders.

Now back to the DDS challenge for this week. The theme is WINTER. Brrr! Pick your favorite DDS image and make a winter card/project. If you need inspiration, check out the fabulous cards the design team created. If you still need more inspiration, come to my house for lunch. There's plenty of snow and cold to get you going! Remember to post your card on the DT Challenge blog by Saturday, January 22nd.

Bundle up and stay warm!

Supplies used:
Snow Days phrase from 3 Birds on Parade Cricut cartridge
Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder
Marvy snowflake punch
Icicles Stickles
Glossy Accent

Inspire Me

I ventured over to The Cuttlebug Spot blog to see what Nilda (love her) was up to. The latest challenge was create a project that was inspired by a book. I chose The Biggest Loser.

I needed a little extra boost to start back on my getting skinny program. Hmmm...I'm guessing that pound of Christmas peanut M&M's that I ate all by myself wasn't helpful. But boy were they DELICIOUS! I purchased a little calendar and made it my workout chart. Every day I work out, I get a sticker. Don't laugh. Okay you can. The quote from Bob fit perfectly with one of my favorite Doodle Dragon Studios bears. See you on the treadmill!

Supplies used:
Sizzix numbers embossing folder from the Reading, Writing & Arithmetic set
Offray Measure Up ribbon
Marvy heart punch
Doodle Dragon Studios bear

I found the mini calendar at Joann Fabrics for 50 cents and used it as the base. Much cheaper than the original Karen Foster calendar I was going to use.

Baby, It's Cold Outside

Baby, it's STILL cold outside! Inspired by the freezing weather, today's freebie from Dustin had to be used immediately. Bundle up and head on over to his blog to pick it up. It's only available until Friday. FYI - local weathermen are predicting another snow storm for Saturday, Sunday & Monday. Someone please save me!

Supplies used:
Baby it's cold outside phrase - 3 Birds on Parade Cricut cartridge
Snowflake - When It's Cold Outside Cricut cartridge
Snow - Martha Stewart Holidays coarse glitter

I Surrender!

Enough is enough...I surrender! I'm officially over winter. I've had enough. Last week we had another major storm and ended up with 10 inches of snow at my house. The "feels like" temperature said -14 the other day. I didn't look today so that I would be fooled enough to venture out of my house. It's like a frozen tundra here with no end in sight! I'm waving the white flag!

I'm in LoVe!

I am so in love with the new December Membership digis! I was thinking that maybe it's because Valentines Day would give us only two more months of winter. :) I wish! But, no...I love them! Here's card #2.

I Woof You!

Here's card #1 from the new December Membership digis from Dustin.

Bingo!

Bingo! I figured out my dilemma yesterday. Instead of hitting six stores, I only hit one. It was so worth it! I designed two cards with the new December Membership digis. But you'll have to wait for the sun to come up so I can take the pictures. In the meantime, here's a Christmas card for you!

Dilemma!

I'm in a serious dilemma...do I go finish my Christmas shopping or play all day with Dustin's new December Membership releases? Ahhhhhhhh, I can't decide!

It's Time!!! (for another) Recipe Challenge

It's Time! Happy New Year! Okay, I'm a little early, but it fit perfect for our next DDS recipe challenge. Just combine embossing, bling & some metal with a DDS image = recipe for success.

Be sure to post your creation over on the DDS Design Team's Challenge blog by Saturday, December 11th.

Dudley loves Welch's sparkling white grape juice. I had to cheat with apple juice to take the picture. Can you see it snowing outside in the background? We've received 5 inches of snow today and it's still snowing!

Pocket watch is from the Old West Cricut cartridge with a Tim Holtz watch face. Happy New Year phrase is from Wild Card Cricut cartridge.

Happy Turkey Day!

Happy Thanksgiving Day! This is the first year in my whole long legged life that we have not gone to Thanksgiving with my family. :( My DD and I are sick so we decided to stay home and have our own little family dinner. I must say it was quite delicious (especially the green bean casserole), but I did miss my family.

This card is dedicated to all of you who have Thanksgiving drama...call me and let's do lunch so I can hear the details! Gobble, gobble!

Remember Dustin is having his Super Duper Mega sale, but it's ending soon! Check it out!
